While there will still be idiots and nay-sayers, whom without having even seen "AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH", will exclaim it's propaganda, these are the same geniuses that would find problems with a fun movie like "HAPPY FEET" claiming it too liberal for putting forth the idea, at the end, humanity doesn't have to pollute the world and kill animals with complete indifference.
Fact is fact and science is science. It's hard to argue with undoctored photos and satellite pictures punctuating the research that "Global Warming" exists and is causing horrible circumstances. It's also hard to argue that we don't have the duty to prevent damage that we are capable of preventing. "An Inconvenient Truth" does have a few minutes here and there, wherein some may feel the need to nod off, as in a hot classroom, but, this film is comprised of footage from his popular lecture, within a classroom setting. But, for the most part, it's quite riveting, scary, and impassioned! The majority of viewers will undoubtedly feel the need to do something, anything to help spread the message that society and individuals need to take action where they can, to minimize waste, and that's a good thing! Perhaps the most important point made in this film, in spite of its chilling impact, is the fact that "all of us" can make a huge difference in the world's future! What happens to the world, happens to us!

PARAMOUNT has provided a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with 16:9 enhanced image. Originally filmed in HD and Super 16, grain is inherent in the process. The image varies from grainy to sharp to soft within scenes. However, none of this detracts from an overall impressive image.
PARAMOUNT provides a Dolby Digital 5.1 mix. There isn't anything in the way of discrete effects, but music and separation are present sporadically with decent fidelity. The all important dialogue is surprisingly low, and without turning volume up substantially, this reviewer found english subtitles to prove helpful for a few phrases that were otherwise too low.
Gore presents an "Update" about events that have followed since the film's completion and there are commentary tracks as well for impassioned viewers.
