While the series "Crocodile Hunter" has its star, Steve Irwin, performing just as many crazy and questionable encounters with dangerous snakes, "AUSTIN STEVENS SNAKEMASTER" is a much better "looking" series. Possibly, because its host, Stevens, is also a fine photographer, and much of his work is built around his goal in shooting(on film)his subject matter, the series has a very glossy, polished look.
"AUSTIN STEVENS SNAKEMASTER" is comprised of three episodes from the series. All are great, and there's a fine mixture of exotic locations and suspenseful encounters with genuinely scary and captivating reptiles. While we know the outcome for this host is obviously going to be fine, one can't help but be caught up in what's "going to happen." These are, at times, scary encounters!
COLUMBIA TRISTAR has preserved the show's 1.78:1 aspect ratio with 16:9 enhancement. Colors are rich and vibrant throughout. There is no grain and contrast is excellent.
