COLUMBIA TRISTAR has released the horror film "BOOGEYMAN". It's surprisingly much better than its mediocre trailer and box-office failure suggest. A young boy, Tim, tries to persuade family a boogeyman is hiding in his closet. His pleas go unheeded, even after his father is killed by it. Years later, upon returning to his childhood home for the funeral of his mom, he elects to stay in the house of his childhood horrors to convince himself he's conquered his past. He hasn't!
COLUMBIA TRISTAR has preserved the film's 1.85:1 aspect ratio, with 16:9 enhancement. Colors are superb. Grain is non-existent and there's incredible detail in even the frequently dark scenes.
COLUMBIA TRISTAR has provided a terrific Dolby Digital 5.1 mix, filled with surround sound involvement and fine bass. Dialogue is always intelligible and free from distortion.
While there are extras here, the featurettes are only mediocre. There are a few deleted scenes worth watching, but the alternate ending is incomplete.
