CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF

Perhaps Tennessee Williams best work, "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" looks terrific on DVD. It's unfortunate that some important themes, eg.Brick's homosexuality, are completely discarded for the cinematic version, but the performances from Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor are marvelous and what's left of the story is so compelling that this can't be missed. The DVD features the matted and P&S version, and there's little difference in framing between them. The DVD image truly shows off the perfection of both actors' looks. The monaural sound is suitable.
