FOX HOME ENTERTAINMENT is releasing “CHASING PAPI”, a light “sex” comedy, without any “sex” to speak of.

Tomas Fuentes is a suave businessman whom has begun relationships with three different beautiful women while on his business trips which take him all over America.  Spanish sexpot, Sofia Vergara plays the dancer/love interest in Miami, Roselyn Sanchez stars as the lawyer/lover in Chicago, and Jaci Velasquez stars as the rich woman/lover in New York.

The film’s only about 82 minutes long, so it’s not too long before all three women find out about one another.  Of course, this leaves room for some humorous fights between the three, as well as eventual bonding.  While the comedy appears cartoon-ish in its lack of depth, it’s warm-hearted enough to remain enjoyable, and even worth recommending.

FOX HOME ENTERTAINMENT has preserved the film’s 1.85:1 aspect ratio, with 16:9 enhancement, and a pan&scan version on the opposite side.  The image is generally solid, with rich, vibrant colors and impressive detail.  The contrast is fine, although it lacks the detail in darker scenes, often found in superior FOX dvd releases. Fleshtones appear natural throughout.

FOX HOME ENTERTAINMENT has provided a Dolby Digital 5.1 mix.  Surprisingly, it tends to be more active than most “comedy”-oriented mixes.  Surrounds are used virtually non-stop, and the music is well complimented through all speakers.  Dialogue is always intelligible and free from distortion.

FOX has included a commentary with the director, cinematographer and main cast.  Some of this is in English and some in Spanish, but subtitles are offered for the Spanish parts. It's actually quite lively and even entertaining(at times). However, none of the participants appear to realize where the film could and should have been improved.  A mini-documentary, bloopers, theatrical trailer and music video are all included.
