Having won an Oscar for “Best animated short,” “THE CHUBBCHUBBS,” COLUMBIA TRISTAR has released this short film on it’s own dvd.  When we say “short,” we mean “short!”  The film runs 5 minutes and 37 seconds!  However, it’s a great short, ranking with the best ever made! 

Within its short running time, the various computer-animated characters are given a surprising amount of depth, and while the climax is a bit disturbing, it’s also a bit sentimental. 

COLUMBIA TRISTAR has presented the film in its correct 1.85:1 aspect ratio, with 16:9 enhancement.  Colors are spectacular, and this is simply a magnificent looking image!

COLUMBIA TRISTAR has presented a Dolby Digital 5.1 mix, and throughout the 5 ½ minute running time, there are virtually non-stop effects! 

It’s a bit disappointing that the director didn’t provide a commentary, but there are some great trailers for some other COLUMBIA TRISTAR films.

This release is available for a SRP of $9.95, but our recommendation is to purchase the “MEN IN BLACK 2: SPECIAL EDITION” release, which includes it, rather than purchasing it separately.
