Confessions of a Shopaholic (Blu-ray)
SRP $39.99 2.35:1 DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 BUENA VISTA

Director P.J. Hogan's "CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC" lacks the depth of his earlier films, however, for those seeking a routine romantic comedy, it does provide a few laughs and offers a light-hearted atmosphere, sure to please most viewers.

Isla Fisher stars as Rebecca Bloomwood, a care-free New Yorker whose job as a writer hasn't been able to compensate for her spending habits and penchant for the most expensive designer labels.  When her world at spending is about to come to an abrupt end, with her credit cards at their maximum limit, a handsome magazine editor shows up to offer her a great business opportunity, and a chance at love.  A little surreal? Wait 'til you see the talking mannequin! Not kidding. "CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC" doesn't know what it's striving to be, mixing formulas from various genres, without ever making the film feel fresh. Most of the film is predictable and although the cast is attractive, they're not given much to showcase their talent. "THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA," this isn't! However, there are so many worse romantic comedies(anything with Kate Hudson, for instance)that at least there's nothing offensive about the film, either.

BUENA VISTA has provided the correct 2.35:1 aspect ratio for this 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 blu-ray release.  Colors are vibrant, and pushed to extremes. Oversaturation is problematic in more than a few scenes. Everything is pushed to extremes here. Contrast is pushed to a point wherein blacks aren't defined. However, the image rarely falls flat! Depth is often amazing! "CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC" never fails to showcase the designer clothes and handbags making up most of the film's atmosphere.

BUENA VISTA has provided a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 mix. The mix is never aggressive, offering standard comedy-style atmosphere. Surrounds pop up occasionally, but often feel restrained. LFE is virtually non-existent. Separation is typically front focused, and generally pleasing, although never enthralling. However, the soundtrack is great, and speakers kick in effectively to compliment it, offering the one saving grace of this lossy mix.

BUENA VISTA has provided  some extras, all in HD. There are music videos, deleted scenes(boring), featurettes(even more boring) and bloopers!
