The most disappointing think about the dvd release, surprisingly, isn’t that Lorenzon Lamas stars in it, but rather, that his beautiful estranged wife, Shauna, doesn’t! At least then, it would feel more like a t&a dumb/fun film. Borrowing from mostly medicore films, (DEEP BLUE SEA mostly)its plot revolves around Lamas’ character, a slick conman/oceanologist, and his beautiful female partner, a secret oceanfloor laboratory, military-trained sharks, a crazed sub commander and more! Again, it borrows from many films, which, in and of itself, doesn’t make it bad. The problem is that most of the films that inspired it were “B” films. DEJ Productions has presented a full-screen release for this film. Color values are fine, although there’s a surprising amount of grain in some scenes. The overall picture veers towards a soft look. Contrast is fine, although unremarkable. DEJ Productions has given this release a surprisingly effective 2.0 mix. Surrounds are active in virtually every scene, sometimes at the expense of a realistic environment. Dialogue is always intelligible and free from distortion. A trailer is included.
