Kevin Smith, whose films, "CLERKS," "CHASING
AMY," "DOGMA," and others have won him a huge cult following, can now be seen in
a documentary following his successful college speaking engagements. It's
basically three hours of standup comedy, with Smith answering questions
from students. He's very intelligent, self-deprecating, and funny.
Smith has always offered insight into the creative process on commentaries for
each of his films. However, "AN EVENING WITH KEVIN SMITH" allows for him
to be even funnier and for fans to get the chance to take away more than
anything they've already learned from previous releases.
In addition to the wide variety of questions which are asked by the audience, Smith discusses his work on the famous "SUPERMAN LIVES" script as well as other Hollywood horror situations.
COLUMBIA TRISTAR has provided the correct 1.78:1 aspect ratio for this release with 16:9 enhancement. For being a documentary, it has a surprising amount of detail to each shot. Although there's some minor grain, the contrast and color values are fine. Fleshtones appear natural.
COLUMBIA TRISTAR has presented a Dolby Digital 2.0 soundtrack. Obviously, this isn't an aggressive soundmix, nor does it need to be. This is purely dialogue-driven, and the dialogue is always intelligible and free of distortion.
There are several trailers included.
