SRP $24.98 1.85:1(16:9) Dolby Digital 2.0 COLUMBIA TRISTAR

Errol Morris's latest documentary, "FAST, CHEAP AND OUT OF
CONTROL" has a considerably more upbeat tone than his equally
fascinating, "THIN BLUE LINE", but this one further
demonstrates his innovative style in this branch of filmmaking.  His
films are "documentaries", but Morris isn't afraid to use
all aspects of filmmaking, innovative angles, etc., to
"document" his subjects.

The film visits consummate professionals in extremely different fields
of expertise.  He explores a robot designer, a lion tamer, a gardener
reknown for his "Shining-like" animal shrubs, and one of,
if not the most well lauded "experts" on the naked mole
rat!

The people and their proffessions couldn't be more dissimilar to one
another, but somehow, Morris masterfully draws parallels of some
higher level between these men and their passion for what they do!
It's no small feat, and Morris deserves credit for this!

COLUMBIA TRISTAR has presented the film with its proper 1.85:1 aspect
ratio with 16:9 enhancement.  The varying film formats(35mm all the
way to old 8mm footage)offers a wide variation in quality at times.
Sometimes, the images are grainy, other times soft, but the newer
footage is excellent.  The overall quality is fine, with generally a
sharp quality. In many spots, the color values are outstanding!

The Dolby Digital 2.0 mix is fine, offering restrained surround
usage, but some directionality for the front soundstage. Dialogue is
well focused and free from distortion.
