A&E has released another complete season of "HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREETS." The 4th season marks the departure of one of the show's most interesting characters, played by Daniel Baldwin. However, some new characters are introduced. Reed Diamond is one of the newest additions to the Homicide squad as a former arson investigator. His character is at first annoying, but slowly and surely, he becomes one of the show's best assets. Unfortunately, possibly in an attempt at higher ratings, the series shares a storyline that begins on "HOMICIDE" but concludes on "LAW AND ORDER," whose concluding episode isn't offered here!
A&E has presented the series with the correct 1.33:1 aspect ratio of its television airing. As with previous seasons, the show has an intentionally grainy look in many scenes. Contrast varies in quality, often lacking detail in darker scenes.
A&E has presented a Dolby Digital 2.0 audio mix. Directional effects are rare, however the musical tracks are one of the highlights of this show, and they're well complimented here.
An audio commentary for one of the episodes is offered. Song lists are also included.
