While it's enjoyable to find the main character, Angus MacGyver, finding ingenious ways to get out of hair-raising situations, as well as a hero refusing to carry a gun, the episodes of SEASON FOUR, offer little in the way of gripping narrative plots.  In this season, MacGyver is less busy with government operations, focusing more on rescuing those around him.  There are a few great episodes, "ON A WING AND A PRAYER", eg.  But, for the most part, "MACGYVER" runs out of steam this season, telegraphing the fact there wasn't much of a need for future seasons.

All 19 episodes from season 4 are included, over 5 discs.

PARAMOUNT has preserved the show's 1.33:1 original format.  While the image is suitable, it lacks the detail of many superior TV to DVD releases. This hasn't been cleaned up and it shows, with repeated scratches, and markings.

PARAMOUNT has included a Dolby Digital Stereo mix, offering some separation in the front speakers. Most of the show is center channel only.  However, the incredible theme is well complimented. Dialogue is always intelligible and free from distortion.
