SRP $39.95 1.33:1 DOLBY DIGITAL STEREO SONY

It’s frustrating to find that there are few tv shows with the consistently talented writers and cast as “NEWSRADIO”, “THE OFFICE” being an exception.

The cast of characters to this series is uniquely attractive, Stephen Root, from “Office Space” plays the radio station owner, Jimmy. But Maura Tierney and Dave Foley, as two higher-up employees, along with Andy Dick and the late-great Phil Hartman as other station employees make for one of the best ensemble casts in recent history!

The fourth season is notable for numerous reasons. There are various story arks that manifest here, great satires(including one on the film “TITANIC”, and one of the show’s best actors, Khandi Alexander, moves on to build her fame with the tv series.

Phil Hartman’s also less focus here, although he's on the entire season.  His episode, "THE JUMPER" wherein he tries to play hero in saving John Lovitz as a jumper, is one of the best episodes of the entire series.

SONY has presented the correct 1.33:1 aspect ratio.  Colors are dead on, and this season actually appears to have lightly more detail than in previous ones.

SONY has presented the same stereo mix as on previous versions. This is essentially a dialogue-driven show, so with the exception of music, virtually all sound is directed towards the center channel. Dialogue is always intelligible and free from distortion.

SONY has included 8 commentary tracks for this release as well as a blooper reel.
