SRP $59.95 1.33:1 Dolby Digital 2.0 BUENA VISTA

BUENA VISTA has begun releasing some of their better tv series in boxed sets.
One of three separate first season series released in November, is the entire
first season of “ONCE AND AGAIN.”

The premise, a middle-aged single father with kids and a middle-aged single
mother with kids, meet, fall in love, and try to keep their relationship
working.  Original? No, but everything else about the show and the way in which
it’s played out is. Some may find the too sentimental, but it’s basically a
“love” story, and it’s realistic to boot!

Sela Ward is one of the few actresses who only gets better looking with age.
She’s not the Pamela Anderson type, but she “is” exactly the type of woman any
man would dream of growing old with.  She looks like a natural beauty.

Billy Campbell, the other lead in the series, also has the charisma that women
viewers must fall in love with. He’s good looking without coming across as
aloof, dim-witted, arrogant or anything else like that. He’s just a good
looking, “nice” guy!

Audiences can’t help but want these “nice”, “good-looking” people to end up
together and work out!  They want that too, but as each episode continues, as
life does, the daily problems of relationships, trust, raising kids, and
everything else, manages to cause some obstacles they have to manage.  It takes
a well-made series for viewers to be willing to come back week-to-week and take
manage these obstacles with them.

BUENA VISTA has presented the image with its original 1.33:1 aspect ratio.  16:9
enhancement didn’t begin until the third season.  Still, the image is pleasing,
with solid, though not particularly colors. Fleshtones appear natural, and
contrast is fine also, with generally deep blacks and grays. There is some
artifacting present, but not enough to diminish the overall fine presentation.

BUENA VISTA has presented the original Dolby 2.0 mix for this presentation.  Not
particularly aggressive, surrounds are limited to minor ambient effects, but
this is a dialogue-heavy show, and the dialogue is always intelligible and free
from distortion.
