"ORDINARY DECENT CRIMINAL" stars Kevin Spacey as Michael Lynch, a criminal whom has become infamous in Dublin, Ireland.  He's achieved a sort of celebrity status, not only for what he steals, but for his almost whimsical style of robberies and taunting of the police.  Inspired by the true story of Irish criminal Martin Cahill, "ORDINARY DECENT CRIMINAL" takes a much lighter approach to his career as a criminal.  The film, "THE GENERAL," took a serious, tense, gritty look at Cahill's life and death, "ORDINARY DECENT CRIMINAL" intends to alternate between a comic and slick atmosphere. 

The real story of Martin Cahill is complex and compelling, dealing with the IRA, political corruption, and many more important issues.  "ORDINARY DECENT CRIMINAL" dispenses with all of these, focusing instead on the humorous side of his robberies, sometimes going over-the-top towards slapstick, for increased effect.

Spacey is, as always, terrific. He's also helped out by terrific costars, including Colin Farrell

BUENA VISTA has provided the correct 2.35:1 aspect ratio, with 16:9 enhancement.  The colors are solid and even vibrant at times.  It's generally a slick-looking image.  Contrast is excellent with deep blacks and grays. Fleshtones appear natural.

BUENA VISTA has provided a Dolby Digital 5.1 mix, and while it's not overly aggressive, it heightens the impact to the heist scenes, and the music .  Dialogue is always intelligible and free from distortion.
