SRP $29.99 1.85:1(16:9) DOLBY DIGITAL 5.1 PARAMOUNT

A great surprise, "SCHULTZE GETS THE BLUES" has been released on dvd by Paramount.  As a former German Miner tries to adapt to retirement, he picks up the accordion to occupy his newfound excess of free time.  As his endeavors lead him to Louisiana Zydeco, he finds a new lease on life and and a passion worth living for.

Unusual as a German film is about self-discovery, "SCHULTZE" has many surprises in it and it's the kind of film that one feels an obligation to turn others onto.

PARAMOUNT has preserved the film's original 1.85:1 aspect ratio with 16:9 enhancement.  Colors are surprisingly vibrant throughout. Detail is terrific.

PARAMOUNT has provided a Dolby Digital 5.1 mix that's also surprising. While there are some silent passages for the character to have self-reflection, there are many, many scenes with an abundance of surround effects. Dialogue, while limited, is always intelligible.

A running commentary is offered with subtitles.
