DISNEY'S "SKY HIGH" is similar to a live version of "THE INCREDIBLES". The kids attending a special high school, are children of superheroes, and their skills and aptitude will decide whether they're going to be superheroes or merely sidekicks. Focusing on the son of Kurt Russell and Kelly Preston, there are plenty of supporting characters that are engaging as well. The script is extremely well written, and there are plenty of witty moments for adults and children alike.
The supporting cast, including Linda Carter, Patrick Walrburton and others are sure to please older viewers as well.
BUENA VISTA has provided a 1080p/MPEG-2 transfer with 2.35:1 aspect ratio. Colors are noticeably brighter than on the standard dvd. They virtually jump off the screen in every scene. However, oversaturation is never a problem. Even more impressive, the detail is often staggering! Contrast is excellent. The few dark scenes offer deep blacks and grays.
BUENA VISTA steps it up with the PCM 5.1 mix here! While impressive on dvd, there are moments where it rocks the house. While not up to the "DTS" thrills of "a better film for adults like "GALAXY QUEST", there are enough discrete and panning effects to thrill kids and adults alike. Bass effects are surprisingly more noticeable here than they were on dvd also.
An alternate opening and two featurettes are included.
