“SPRING, SUMMER, FALL, WINTER…AND SPRING” is one of those rare, great films that many will unfortunately miss out on, unless really pushed to see it!  SEE THIS DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The trailer didn’t offer anything in snippets that made for a compelling argument to see the film. While the story unfolds at a steady, deliberate pace, it’s never dull and entirely captivating, if given the chance to do its job.

Most of the film centers around a temple and the two men honoring it, as crucial situations within the human and natural condition happen in its vicinity, over time.  Nope, it may not sound intriguing, but it speaks well of the film’s power that it somehow locks the viewer in!

Comprised of five settings, each has its own conflict and lesson, as a young apprentice learns from a master.

COLUMBIA TRISTAR has preserved the film’s 1.85:1 aspect ratio with 16:9 enhancement.  It’s impossible to not be disheartened that this release didn’t receive a better transfer.  Colors are adequate, but the image never fully conveys the detail and serenity of the film’s crucial locations.  It lacks the detail so often found on less provocative dvd releases.  Fleshtones appear natural.

COLUMBIA TRISTAR has done a magnificent job here!  It clearly demonstrates that there actually is “a lot” of action taking place every minute in nature.  All speakers are engaged in a creative, effective manner throughout the film. The incredible soundtrack is also well-complimented here. Dialogue is always intelligible and free from distortion.
