While many fans of the original "STAR TREK" series have criticized this series, "ENTERPRISE" offers some of the most intriguing characters of any of the original series' spin-offs. Set a century before the original series, it's still hard at times for viewers to suspend belief that the "ENTERPRISE" or its crew may ever succumb to the obstacles facing its crew, especially when knowing of the ship's future adventures. While Scott Bakula's Jonathan Archer is no Captain Piccard, he's still engaging and makes it easy to root for him.
There are more than a few fun story ideas, especially in regards to things like the early use of the transporter.
PARAMOUNT has preserved the show's 1.78:1 aspect ratio with 16:9 enhancement. Colors are solid and rich. There's much more detail present than we recall during the original airings.
PARAMOUNT has provided a Dolby Digital 5.1 mix. Unfortunately, surrounds are rarely utilized. There are some fun bass effects, but other than that the mix is subdued, even in terms of front separation effects. Dialogue is always intelligible and free from distortion.
PARAMOUNT has included plenty of extras. Promos, interviews with cast and crew, outtakes and more, will delight fans.
