Set in the future, the uncivilized society of the 21st century has made a reality television game a hit. "THE BIG HUNT" is a contest, televised for the masses, in which contestants have a goal to ultimately kill 10 others.
Ursula Andress stars with Marcello Mastroianni as two of the contestants whom might be falling in love with one-another at their own peril. While the comedic overtones don't always work, there's something both alluring and intentionally disturbing about Andress' use of her sexual prowess to defeat her victims. It's little wonder that the film's being considered as a remake vehicle with Catherine Zeta-Jones
ANCHOR BAY has presented the film with its correct 1.85:1 aspect ratio and 16:9 enhancement. The transfer is excellent! While there's some grain in a few scenes, overall the colors and contrast are outstanding. Fleshtones are natural and color values are often surprisingly vibrant.
As mentioned, ANCHOR BAY has included both the original Italian soundtrack as well as the awful English dubbed track. The dialogue is always intelligible and it offers better fidelity than found on most monaural tracks.
The original American theatrical trailer is included.
