"Terminator 3" is a much better film than one would expect, considering it's the first of the franchise to have a director other than James Cameron at the wheel.  Mostow's debut film, "BREAKDOWN" was highly over-rated, bordering on stupid from scene-to-scene. However, none of those problems are here!  The script to "T3" is clever, and the actors are well cast.  Edward Furlong's replacement,  Nick Stahl, is perfect for what he has to do. It's another sign of how gripping the film is, for one to completely forget about Furlong being replaced 5 minutes into the film.

Kirstanna Loken is a worthy villain, and there's something truly chilling to see someone under the guise of such beauty doing the acts of carnage she does here.  Clair Danes brings yet another sense of reality to the film, being one of the most under-rated actresses today.

WARNER BROS. has provided a great looking transfer. The 2.35:1 aspect ratio is intact. Colors are solid and extremely vibrant. Blacks and grays are deep, allowing the darkest scenes to exhibit the same incredible detail found elsewhere.  It's a rich, bright transfer, showcasing the best examples of what great BLU-RAY transfers have to offer, for the most part.... Grain is present throughout, sometimes more noticeable than at others, but this appears to be due to the film having been shot in SUPER 35. It's hard to think of any film shot in that format that doesn't suffer from grain on video.

WARNER BROS. has provided a DOLBY DIGITAL PLUS 5.1 mix. While we're disappointed they didn't select this title for a DOLBY TrueHD mix, the present one is terrific!  This is one of the most aggressive mixes available on either HD-DVD or BLU-RAY format thus far! The listener is at the center of a brilliant showcase of discrete, panning and bass effects from beginning-to-end of the film.  The dynamic range is excellent, and dialogue is never hindered, even within layers of effects and music.

WARNER BROS has included "three" audio commentaries, the best featuring the entire starring cast! It's great!  An HBO "FIRST LOOK" and other supplements follow.
