We hope viewers of "TWIN PEAKS: SEASON 2" have seen the first season, or "SEASON 2" will make no sense. But, then again, some would argue it makes no sense either way! Lynch's series was groundbreaking in many ways, caring more about mood than narrative and trying non-linear approaches, and dreams within dreams but effectively enough to not make viewers annoyed as dream sequences in "THE SOPRANOS" have done.
The question as to "Who shot Laura Palmer" is finally revealed in this set as well as other important questions. The 2nd season pulls no punches as the series breaks a lot of rules with such abandon, it's impossible not to marvel at it. More importantly, it is never dull!
PARAMOUNT has provided the correct 1.33:1 aspect ratio for this release. While some grain appears infrequently, colors are rich throughout, even within difficult lighting scenarios. Detail is outstanding in virtually every frame and blacks and grays are deep. BRAVO!!!
PARAMOUNT has provided a Dolby Digital 5.1 mix. While not aggressive, there are a fair share of discrete effects and the terrific score has never sounded better! Bass is predominant in many scenes, but never overshadows or distorts the dialogue.
Several trailers are included as well as brief interviews with directors from various episodes.
